Lyon, from Brookeld, Connecticut, USA, was elected to serve as rst vice president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 107th international convention held in Orlando, Florida from July 13 through July 17, 2025. Prior to his retirement in March 2024, Vice President Lyon has worked in corporate legal administration and nancial services with several major corporations and banks for over 40 years. As a long-time resident of Brookeld and an active volunteer in his community , church and local government, his connection with Lions was already well established before he became a member of the Brookeld Lions Club in 1996. Since then, he has held a number of ofces within the association, including international director , multiple district council chairperson and multiple district GLT coordinator . He was also appointed as a member of the LCI Forward project team, a Global Action Team area leader , a District Governor -Elect Seminar group leader and board liaison to the 2019 USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum Executive Committee. Vice President Lyon has also served as presenter , faculty and participant at countless training events and leadership forums throughout the years. In recognition of his service, he has received multiple International President’s Awards and International President’s Certicates of Appreciation, as well as an International President’s Leadership Award. Vice President Lyon is also a recipient of the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members. Additionally , he has been recognized as a Connecticut Knight of the Blind and a Connecticut Ambassador of Sight, and is the recipient of a number of project and service- related certicates. In addition to his Lion activities, Vice President Lyon has been active in numerous professional and community organizations. Singh, of Kolkata, India, was elected to serve as international president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 107th international convention, held in Orlando, Florida from July 13 through July 17, 2025. International President Singh is a practicing chartered accountant and has family business interests in automobile dealerships. A Lion since 1984 and a member of the Calcutta Vikas Lions Club, International President Singh has held many positions within the association, including district governor and council chairperson. He has served as GMT international coordinator for four years and as a member on a number of ad hoc board committees. He was chairperson for the 2017 DGE seminar in Chicago, USA, and has served as faculty at more than 50 ALLIs/RLLIs, RLLIs, FDIs and LCIP certication programs. He has also served as multi-national coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II, CA leader for Campaign 100, member of the LCIF Steering Committee and as chairperson of the National SightFirst Committee of India. International President Singh has participated in and presented seminars at area forums in all constitutional areas. He was the co-chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the ISAAME Forum in Kolkata, India. Singh Immediate P ast International P resident, LCIF Chairperson, Kolkata, India 83 === PAGE 92 === Dr. Manoj Shah of Nairobi, Kenya was elected to serve as second vice president of Lions International at the association's 107th international convention held in Orlando, Florida in July 2025. Vice President Shah is a successful businessman with interests in the automobile, property , hospitality and nance sectors. A charter member of the Nairobi Greater Lions Club since 1988, Vice President Shah has held many ofces within the association at club, district and international levels. He has served as a constitutional area leader of the Global Action Team – Africa and was chairman of the Africa Lions Steering Committee, which led to Africa being recognized as a separate constitutional area. He also served as a trustee of the Lions Clubs International Foundation and is a Campaign 100 Lead Gift Donor and LCIF Humanitarian Partner . A passionate advocate for leadership development, Vice President Shah has served as faculty at several International Lions Leadership Institutes and facilitated leadership workshops across Africa and Asia. He is a certied LCIP trainer for Lions International and has led the District Governors-Elect Seminar as a group leader multiple times. Vice President Shah's philanthropic endeavors have left an indelible mark on the community . He played a pivotal role in establishing Lions Service Centers in Kenya, including the Lions Renal Unit, Lions Dental Center and Lions Hearing Center . Manoj Shah International First V ice President Nairobi, Kenya 84 === PAGE 93 === Tony Benbow from South Vermont, Australia, was elected to serve as international third vice president of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 107th international convention held in Orlando, Florida, July 13 through 17, 2025. Vice President Benbow is a retired head of operations in banking. A member of the South Vermont Lions Club since 1985, he has held many ofces within the association, including international director , club president, district governor , council chairperson and GMT area leader . In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards, including a Membership Advancement Key, Club President Excellence Award, two International President’s Certicates of Appreciation and nine International President’s Awards. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow . Past Director Rettby has a masters in civil engineering and was CEO and director of a group of family -owned construction companies. He has now retired from the company but is still professionally active as a consultant in the elds of water treatment and industrial safety . A member of the Neuchâtel Lions Club since 1993, he has held many ofces within the association, including zone and region chairperson, district secretar y, district governor and council chairperson. He is also chairperson and member of several national organizing committees, including LCI representative to UNICEF, Europa Forum president, Centennial Action Committee chairperson, DGE Seminar group leader and GST leader . Dr. Naresh is chairman of companies specializing in steel and agricultural products. A lifetime member of the Batala Smile Lions Club since 1974, Vice President Dr. Naresh has served with great distinction as club president and district. He also served as chairman of the Council of Governors for MD 321 in 1989- 90. Dr. Naresh served as international director from 1998 to 2000. He earned great appreciation by achieving signicant membership growth while serving as Global Membership Team area leader . He was a faculty and group leader for DGE Seminars at three International Conventions. He also served as international board appointee three times, and as Global Leadership Team constitutional area leader (CA - 6). Vice President Dr. Naresh is trustee and vice chairperson of Lions Quest in India Foundation and has also ser ved on the National SightFirst Committee. In course of time, he rose to the position of General Manager in that organization. He had a distinguished career with Mukand Ltd., spanning over 30 years. Joined Lions Club in 1963, became District Governor in 1979. During the term of District Governor , Lion Ashok Mehta helped the ood - affected people of Morvi, Gujarat and constructed a housing colony at a cost of Rs.34 Lakhs. He was elected International Director for a 2 year term 1986- 1988, as a representative of Africa and South East Asia, representing 57 countries on the Board of Directors of Lions Clubs International. In 1986, he was declared " Man of the Year " by Jaycees of Mumbai. Lion Ashok Mehta, his wife Kokila Mehta & daughter Shital Kapoor are Progressive Melvin Jones Fellows. From this part of the World of Lionism, Lion Ashok Mehta has the distinction of having been conferred the coveted President's Medallion by Lions International Presidents consecutively for the last 30 years; and having participated in 32 Lions International Conventions; 21 US Canada Forums, 31 Africa Forums and 10 Lions Conferences in Far East countries. He has enrolled 260 Members to the Association and extended 27 Clubs. He has presented papers on Sight Conser vation and other vital topics at Lions International Forums and Conventions, He was appointed a Member of the Campaign Sight First International Committee - for 5 years (1990 to 1995 ), with the task of collecting US $ 150 Millions for the Sight First project. He was appointed Member of the Campaign Sight First II International Committee for 2 years ( 2006-2008 ), with the task of collecting US $ 200,000. He has been responsible for carrying out many Eye Camps in the rural areas of India and also Africa. He has to his credit 30 Eye Camps all over India and Africa. Lion Ashok Mehta was appointed Chairman of the District Governors Orientation at 75th International Convention in Hongkong and from 1990 onwards, he has been appointed 12 times as the Group Leader . At the 88th International Convention of Lions Clubs International, held at Hong Kong, on 1st July , 2005, he took over as the P resident of Lions Clubs International, the largest service clubs organization. Nominated by the Governor of Maharashtra to the Senate of Mumbai University for a 5 year term from the year 2000. He was appointed Sheriff of Mumbai by the Government of Maharashtra, on 4th Januar y 2001, for a one year term. Government of Maharashtra has appointed him recently as a Member of the Senate of All India SNDT University for the period 2011 - 2016. Past President Mehta has been Chairperson of several companies in India engaged in the business of Textiles, engineering, fertilizers, medical products and energy Presently , he is the Chairman of Torrent Cables Ltd. and also associated as Director in many companies. A member of Ahmedabad Lion Club since1956, Past President Mehta was the Charter Secretar y of the rst club in his state. He has served as District Governor for the years 1959-60 and 1960-61. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Lions Clubs International from 1970-72. Past President Mehta was also the Editor of THE LION Magazine in India for many years . Past President Mehta was the Chairperson of Lions Karnavati Shantaben Vishnubhai Patel Eye Hospital and Lalji Mehrotra Lions School. Director Babu has been a Lion since 1990, when he joined the Vijayawada Velegapudi Ramnagar Lions Club. He is currently a member of the Eluru Helepuri Lions Club, where he’s served since 2022. Director Babu has worked as a process and marketing consultant in the fruit processing industr y for 25 years. He was the Promoter Managing Director of Harsha Electronics Private Ltd & Vinsari Fruitech Limited a 100% export oriented unit. Director Babu rst became a Lion in 1993 after joining the Tirupathi Lions Club. In 2016, he transferred to the Bangalore Kumarapark Lions Club. He has held a number of ofces within the association including Club President, Zone Chairperson and District Governor . He has also served as LCIF Regional Coordinator for four years and has been a member of the LCI Youth Ad hoc committee.
